“A DELICIOUS and affordable omakase at $59. Randomly in a food court, but who cares when that grilled otoro could bring me to tears? Plus the servers were so friendly and attentive that you couldn't get better service in a five-star restaurant. Everything was tasty, but favorites were the fatty tuna, the scallop, the truffle yellowtail, and the smoky salmon. Go here yesterday and send me some in the mail.”

“Ridiculously good for a food court location; "Michelin 2025" on the wall speaks to that! Better than a lot of restaurants I've been to in the US. Very respectable fish list; not wildly extensive but some great choices of a variety of bluefin tuna, shima aji, kinmedai, uni, etc. All nicely put together. Your order comes out quick. Easy recommendation if you're in the area, or passing between the airport and Mid Beach. Totally would stop by again.”

“Located in the MIA market in the design district, Sushi Yasu is a surprisingly excellent place for sushi. The sushi is traditional style, fresh and tastes excellent. They have a few set menus but you can also order a la carte. We had the omakase and every piece was great. Service is excellent, but it's worth noting that you order from a counter, fond place to sit and then your meal is brought to you. Don't let that fool you into thinking this is mediocre sushi, it's on par with some of the best sushi you can get outside of Japan.”

“The quality for the price is truly unbeatable. The service is fast, and the prices are more than fair at $60 for the 10 piece omakase and a handroll. Forget Omakai and all the others and come here. The restaurant is just a stall in a food hall (MIA Market), so it's easy to roll up with a group of any size--even by yourself!--or try other things if someone in your group doesn't want to commit to sushi. It's true that some of the ambiance that come with a traditional, intimate sushi restaurant is lost. You come here for a no-frills, food-forward meal, not sushi Disneyland. If sushi Disneyland is what you're looking for, Miami has plenty of other outstanding options like Shingo and Hiyakawa.”

“THE sushi spot in the Design District. Sushi Yasu Tanaka is located within the MIA Market, tucked away in the corner but is such a gem. When you enter the MIA Market, there are so many things to choose from but, if you're a sushi fanatic, definitely plan to grab a bite here! They offer platters, specials, and even omakase. I love the omakase because it's such a different format from normal omakase. It's more of a causal experience but still so special. The fish tastes so fresh and of high quality, you'll question if you're even in a food hall concept but I would expect nothing less from the Design District. I've done both the omakase and the salmon special and both are so great. Definitely recommend this spot!”

“Ever since visiting Israel a few years ago and falling in love with the greatest food in the world, I've been on the hunt for Israeli or even southern Mediterranean food here in the US to at least get close to the freshness and taste of being there. Until today, I've been coming up short. Then I saw Jaffa Israeli Kitchen opened in Hallandale and told my wife this was all I wanted to do on my birthday. We jumped on one of their two mezze starters, got their beef kofta, and dairy free pistachio ice cream. ALL OF IT WAS INCREDIBLE! With their doors open to enbrace today's incredible weather, it was almost like being on the harbor eating in Jaffa. We met the owner/chef Yaniv Cohen, who was wonderful to speak to and hear how he prepared some of the dishes. Make reservations and go. You will NOT be disappointed. Hell, tell me when you're going, Ill go with you. It's definitely in rotation now.”

“Probably one of the most underrated sushi spots in Miami. Located inside Design District's, MIA Market, you wouldn't expect to find such high quality, perfectly curated sushi, nigiri and hand roll menu but there it is -- a spot every sushi lover should try. Run by former chef of the den at Azabu, the michelin rated chef Yasu Tanaka knows how to create beautiful creations of hand rolls, nigiri samplers and maki rolls you didn't know your taste buds needed. Recently, I indulged in the tuna sampler which consisted of 3 tuna makis, 2 fatty tuna nigiris that were torched, 2 less fatty ones and 2 even less fatty... wow, wow, wow, I was speechless. I really hope everyone gets a chance to try this spot out because you certainly will not regret it.”

“I am always craving Chef Yasu's sushi, and admire his skills. As always, it was absolutely phenomenal. Each bite was unique in its taste, and each bite was something I didn't want to end. Do NOT sleep on this place. It's the best sushi you can find in Miami, and probably the best in the state. I'd highly recommend opting for the 10 piece omakase, and choosing a hand roll to indulge in additionally on the side. If you want some cocktails, wine, or beer to go with it then you can get them at the bar in the middle of the MIA Market food court. There are places that charge more for lesser quality and more mediocre flavors. You will not find any better place for sushi regarding price, quality, and taste.”

“Have you been to Jaffa? Located in the St. Roch market in the design district on the second floor upstairs. Parking is very easy in this area. If you find a garage it's approximately $3.00 for 4 hours! For Miami that is a steal! Jaffa is inside a food hall, it's very cozy and comfy with lots of other restaurants to choose from. I ordered the shakshuka and it was personally made by Salar which was absolutely delicious! Averagely priced, around $13-15 dollars. So delicious. It hit the spot! No one makes shakshuka like Jaffa or Salar!”

“If you find yourself at Sushi Yasu Tanaka inside Mia Market, do yourself a favor and try the ube dessert. It might be my new favorite. Layers of sweet purple yam (ube) sit over a scoop of vanilla ice cream, finished with a touch of edible gold leaf--simple but unforgettable. Altogether with tax, it came to just under $13, which felt worth every penny. I can't speak to the rest of the menu, but the service was quick and friendly. The seating area is clean and spay.”

“Sardomare at MIA Market is like a full blown authentic Italian restaurant in MIA market food hall at the Miami Designe District. We met the owner and Chef Daniel Senis. Treated us like family. The other important part was the food. Everything is fresh and homemade from Sardinia. The bolognese, the salad and the antipasto were actually perfection. Coming back and encouraging home to open more places in South Florida”
