GGoogle“Wonderful place for quick omakase. You get 10 pieces and also a handroll. Each piece was delicious. It is located inside the market, so don't expect much ambiance, but food is great!”
Sushi Yasu Tanaka
GGoogle“Amazing sushi omakase, great service, absolutely not expensive in comparison to the quality and types of sushi you're going to have. Highly recommend to try and become a regular. This is real sushi at it's best!”

★Yelp“The food was delicious and service was great. pretty decore, nice atmosphere and beautiful serving platters. we enjoyed the place so much that we went back a few times. The Sunday brunch is amazing! we have plans to go back in a couple of weeks with our friends. highly recommended!!”
Jaffa
★Yelp“I love this place! He apparently came from a 5 star restaurant in NYC. This was absolutely the best sushi I have ever tasted. Honestly didn't know sushi could taste warm, buttery, sweet, and oh so slightly salty at the same time. The wasabi was real too. It's from the actual wasabi plant!”
Sushi Yasu Tanaka
★Yelp“This is my favorite go to sushi in Miami. If you're looking for the freshest quality seafood - yasu Tanaka is the place you have to go. I recommend doing the $71 omakase special. You get an appetizer, 10 piece nigiri spread and a hand roll. I sometimes like to add on an uni nigiri or swap out the hand roll for a dessert that is freshly made by the chefs wife.”
Sushi Yasu Tanaka
Jaffa
◉TripAdvisor“$50 dollar omakase is unheard of, especially at the quality. The fish were fresh and basically melted in our mouths. The garnishes and flavors complicated each other. They also used real wasabi, which is rare for even "high end" restaurants. I will definitely be coming back when I'm in Miami again. The only thing was we did not know what fish we were eating or what order we should eat.”
Sushi Yasu Tanaka
GGoogle“I stopped at Jaffa because we were looking for a Middle Eastern place to grab a quick lunch. We had the chicken platter, which we shared and the chicken shawarma plate. Everything was fresh and full of flavor. The hummus was very very good too. The food came quickly and the service was very friendly. The restaurant was clean. An overall very nice experience for a fresh, fast lunch. I would come back to Jaffa anytime.”

★Yelp“Located in the MIA market in the design district, Sushi Yasu is a surprisingly excellent place for sushi. The sushi is traditional style, fresh and tastes excellent. They have a few set menus but you can also order a la carte. We had the omakase and every piece was great. Service is excellent, but it's worth noting that you order from a counter, fond place to sit and then your meal is brought to you. Don't let that fool you into thinking this is mediocre sushi, it's on par with some of the best sushi you can get outside of Japan.”
Sushi Yasu Tanaka
★Yelp“Miami Nice inside MIA Market in the Design District is an absolute gem. The food is seriously on point--everything from the ribeye to the chicken and salmon wrap was cooked perfectly, and the croquettes were next-level addictive. You can tell real care and passion go into every dish. The ambiance is chill and inviting, making it a great spot to hang out and eat well, but what really sets this place apart are the owners--super cool guys who genuinely love food and it shows in both the flavors and the experience. Easily one of my favorite stops in the food hall, highly recommend.”

★Yelp“I stumbled upon MIA market trying to find a drink with bae. I noticed the restaurants in the market, I began looking them up just to check out reviews and to see if they were any good. I looked up Yasu Tanaka and was floored by the amount of 5 star reviews. I told bae, "we have to go there to try at least one thing," earlier we came from Tap 42. :/ ehhh...don't recommend. But we were full. Anyway, I talked to the guy at the front and told him congrats on the amazing reviews and how good the food must be. He thanked us, and persuaded us to at least try a hand roll. We did!! We waited. And they ended up bringing us an extra one! How nice! The Hamachi Hand rolls were amazing!! Super fresh, simple, and perfect. Fresh ginger and a perfect finish to our day! Thank you Yasu! I can't wait to come back to try the Omakase. Another 5 star review for your thoughtfulness and quality food!”

★Yelp“My wife and I went to lunch at Jaffa cafe inside the food court off 39th street in the Miami Design district. It was a cute cafe and we were greeted with smiles as we sat at the counter. We ordered the turmeric roasted Head of Cauliflower and Roasted Brussels sprouts for an appetizer. The cauliflower came dripping with tahini sauce and cilantro. The chef served up a side of a middle eastern hot sauce and it all tasted pretty darn incredible. Lunch was then served. Not your typical plate of chicken shawarma but a triple tiered presentation with all the typical fixings. My wife had the brisket bowl and we both enjoyed the perfectly matched flavors. Which, because of the portion sized we had a second chance to enjoy for dinner as well. We finished the meal with some mint tea with date honey. If you're even in the design district and looking for a break from the sun, check out the food court at 140 NE 39th Street. Walk between the buildings, turn left, up the escalator and walk straight back. Jaffa is the first cafe' on the right as you enter the food court space. Now, this isn't your typical "mall" food court, this is high end and well deserving business attire and not shorts and flip flops. But hey, it's Miami, that goes too. Great food pouring over with flavors and a very nice atmosphere. I'm definitely coming back to this place for seconds!!! Oh, an I ordered Chef Yaniv Cohen's cook book too! Yeah, I'm hooked. Jaffa
★Yelp“This restaurant is likely Miami's best kept secret. It's a culinary gem that's hides in plain sight. Located within the MIA Market, Tanaka Sensei works his sushi wizardry alongside a skeleton crew. I started with their omakase (chef's tasting) menu, and I'm telling you that if you like sushi even a little bit, you simply must come and try it. At $59 it's the best dining bargain in Miami, with 10 pieces of sushi plus a hand roll to finish. Oh, and they get everything right: the rice, the ginger, the service are all impeccable and enhance the experience. The venue itself is modest, being one of a number of kiosks surrounding the large dining area, making a sort of high-end food court. You order at the kiosk, then get a stanchion with a number on it and bring it back to your table. Service is polite and prompt. You can get tea or water from SYT, or alcohol from some of the other kiosks. My meal was perfect, but I was so amazed I had to try more. I followed up the omakase with the salmon special, which is 7 pieces each done differently but expertly. It costs $35 and is just as sublime as the omakase menu. I will certainly return as often as I can before this place moves to a new venue more fitting to its class.”
Sushi Yasu Tanaka
★Yelp“Probably one of the most underrated sushi spots in Miami. Located inside Design District's, MIA Market, you wouldn't expect to find such high quality, perfectly curated sushi, nigiri and hand roll menu but there it is -- a spot every sushi lover should try. Run by former chef of the den at Azabu, the michelin rated chef Yasu Tanaka knows how to create beautiful creations of hand rolls, nigiri samplers and maki rolls you didn't know your taste buds needed. Recently, I indulged in the tuna sampler which consisted of 3 tuna makis, 2 fatty tuna nigiris that were torched, 2 less fatty ones and 2 even less fatty... wow, wow, wow, I was speechless. I really hope everyone gets a chance to try this spot out because you certainly will not regret it.”
Sushi Yasu Tanaka
★Yelp“This is a hidden gem within the MIA Market. There are many options inside the Market but being the sushi lover that I am I decided to give Sushi Yasu a try. This restaurant is run by a Michelin rated chef. The quality of the fish is amazing and none like any other that I've had unless of course you go to a sit down restaurant or omakase. I ordered the Omakase as well as a Wagyu hand roll both of which where exquisite. I also tried the tuna sampler and the salmon sampler. The quality is top notch. So when in MIA Market don't think twice and hit up this spot!”
Sushi Yasu Tanaka
★Yelp“Today my friend and i got to try this hidden gem located in the Mia Market and it was a 10/10. We were pleasantly greeted by Giovanni at the counter. He provided exceptional service and was very kind and patient with us as it was our first time here. He recommended us to go a la carte. Every single piece was high quality and extremely delicious i kept coming back for more! Giovanni was super attentive to us and made our experience here outstanding. I highly highly recommend!”
Sushi Yasu Tanaka
★Yelp“The sushi is orgasmic. It is so fresh it's silky in your mouth, it bursts with flavors, and the service is stupendous I like sushi however, this is probably now one of my favorite spots to go to It's like leaving the US and literally visiting Japan, which I have been to.not disappointed! It is a must, do it 100% However, it does close early by 7 PM and it's in the design district. You'll love me for it.”
Sushi Yasu Tanaka
★Yelp“By far my favorite place in Miami to get sushi. The lunch special is not only unbeatable, but the quality of fish is unlike any other place here in Miami. It's so soft and buttery. The chef is so sweet and you can tell this place really is authentic and he loves what he does. I've recommended this place to at least 10 people over the years and they've all become obsessed.”
Sushi Yasu Tanaka
★Yelp“The best sushi that exists in South Florida. But take note, once you eat this no other sushi in all of Miami will ever taste as good. I almost always get the salmon 5 piece, ototo charcoal and two wagyu miso hand rolls. But as you can imagine, everything is going to be amazing. Also, it's located inside of the food hall in palm court. Very easily accessible.”
Sushi Yasu Tanaka
★Yelp“WOW! This place has been on my list forever, and I'm so glad I finally got around to coming here. Its casual in an upscale food hall, food comes out in 10 minutes max. It's not cheap, but it is cheap for omakase style sushi at this quality. The fish was so fresh, delicious, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a quick and quality lunch.”
Sushi Yasu Tanaka
★Yelp“This place is the best kept secret in Miami. OOOMMMGGG! Their rice is warm. They are so high class. Taste is insane. Quality an 11 out of 10. I went there twice in ONE day and even want to go back today. Their toro hand roll was out of this world. Incredible !!!!!!!!! Wow. Wow. Wow.”
Sushi Yasu Tanaka
★Yelp“Located inside the Mia market food court of Miami Design District. Walk- ins only- no reservations! You order and pay up front, they give you a number and bring out the food when ready. No counter seating either. Definitely a quick and fresh bite to fix a sushi craving mid shopping”
